Not sure what is going on ... I am rebuilding the search index ... but that shouldn't effect the existing index until the rebuild is ready to be switched over.

Ok, found the problem.

I kicked off a manual full index rebuild earlier today ... but at noon the normal index rebuild kicked off automatically ... the full rebuild takes a long time, the automatic rebuild only takes a short time.

Unfortunately, both processes use the same work files ... so they trashed them.

I've restarted the full rebuild and put protection into the process so they won't walk on each other again.

The index search should be back up in a few hours.
