Some time ago, I'd configured the printer port on my 3487 to feed an HP
LaserJet, with default COR output format (which I could change just by
going into "SETUP PRINTER" and switching 3 parameters.

Then my 3487 died, a few months ago.

I made the mistake of trying to set up a 3477 to print. Unfortunately,
that seems to have done in the *DEVD.

Today, my new (i.e., used) 3489 arrived. Really nice terminal. Tried to
set up the printer. Works fine if I'm connected to a system on which I
didn't screw up the *DEVD. Can't get COR at all on the system with the
screwed-up *DEVD.

I tried deleting the *DEVD, hoping that it would autoconfigure itself right.

It never autoconfigured at all.

Can somebody (in the words of a character originally played by David Hedison)
              HHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP
MMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE???
