In his scenario, it would be manual.  If he was running a windows server
(this is how it works for symantec) you would have a central server that
pulls down updates and then your PCs would check that server for updates,
like with liveupdate.

Obviously since you can't run windows program on the iSeries, you wouldn't
be able togo that route.
