I believe we just go down to restricted state for weekly backups, then
come right back up, most of the time, on our V4R4 and V4R5 boxes. We
only do a full IPL as needed.

On the other hand, the V4R2, V3R2, and V2R3 boxes stay cold most of the
time, unless we're actually using them, but they're all on weekly
"exercise" cycles, coming up about 3PM Thursday or Friday, unless
manually started before then, and shutting down 6PM the same day,
because when we kept them completely cold for weeks at a time, we ended
up having to call IBM for system passwords when we finally did bring
them up. Ye vish, what a hassle THAT is, ESPECIALLY with the V2R3 box!
