You should be able to use MochaSoft Tn5250 from the Blackberry to get to 
the iSeries once you get thru the network.

We just got a few Blackberries in that are wireless units using a 
cell-phone carrier.  The boss wants to be able to check his e-mail from 
it.  You can do e-mail and you can navigate to a web page.  If can set 
up the AS/400 with one of the browser-based interfaces (like HATS) to 
the AS/400, you should be able to log on.  I'd be willing to bet that 
the Blackberry has SSL support built in, but you'd need to get a 
certificate for the AS/400 to establish a secure connection.  Verisign 
sells them for about $900 a year.
