Mike, sounds like you need to locate and read one of IBMs Redbooks on the topic. Partitioning Planning , [LPARs] require a more than fair degree of hardware knowledge, solid Sys Admin, Sys Pgmr and the proper equipment... etc as well as Planning , Planning , Planning ,then a little more Planning. Better yet attend one of IBMs LPAR Classes in Rochester for 5 days is it. Education and Experience are a wonderful thing in this arena.
