Hans already responded to this.  I thought I would add what I think is a
better solution to SEU and SDA and their source status.  Why not store all
your source on an NFS exported tree and use an existing GPL'ed editor such
as emacs or other open source editors such as vim?  This approach allows
you to customize the editor to your needs.

I don't think this is much different than all projects in general,
including closed source projects.  I imagine that the ratio of actively
developed software to all software in existence is quite small, regardless
of it's open nature.  The freedoms of open source are not gaurantees of
longevity or viability, but rather guarantees of freedom to the users to
act.

Fortunately, the iSeries-related open source software that I use is
actively maintained.  Thanks largely to Scott Klement.
