I hope I should not know this about the relationship between QShell and PASE, but here goes:

That webpage says to copy the binary to /usr.bin, in order to be able to run it from QShell, When running zip or unzip in QShell, does QShell know it's a PASE executable and, therefore, QShell uses qp2cmd or whatever? IOW, to run zip from QShell, does PASE still need to be running? We don't have PASE on the V5R1 box.

Thanks
Vern

It doesn't "run" as it is envoked from the command line (call qp2term) or a
submitted shell (call qp2cmd) ((sorry for splitting hairs))

But it does need to be installed. At V5R1 it is a chargeable feature
($100) at V5R2 it is "free" (price included).

Very cool - got it going on our V5R2 box, both PASE and QShell. Tried
copying the binaries to our V5R1 that does not have PASE. Did not work -
does PASE need to be running?

Thanks
