No, that's not correct.  Newer JetDirect products work fine as *HPPJLDRV or
*IBMSNMPDRV network print devices.  Only the really old ones were that
limited.

With a Lexmark Marknet print server, you'll be able to have a local device
connected via *LEXLINK
