If you want to do this one time and forget about it, I suggest using the
LABEL ON SQL command:

LABEL ON COLUMN qgpl/VENDOR (VNVEND IS 'Vendor', VNNAME IS 'Vendor Name',
VNSTATUS IS 'Vendor Status')

For source management purposes I would go one step further and put this into
the text member that can be executed using RUNSQLSTM command. This way if
you have to redo the labeling, you can do it using a single command.

Subject: sql column headings on result screens

Users are complaining about our "fully descriptive" column headings
on sql searches. In a simple select statement
Select vnvend, vnname, vnstatus from vendor where vnname like '%SMITH%'

is there a way to change the column headings for "some" of the selected
fields?
