I'm going to guess not. PREPARE is, as you know, a dynamic SQL process. I may be wrong, but I think PREPARE is where the optimizer does its thing. With static SQL, that optimization is done at program creation, and there may be an estimate then. Unfortunately, that estimate (and maybe the one from PREPARE) may have little to do with future reality.

Is there a way to get an estimate if the statement is not prepared? I do a lot of work with static SQL statements.
