I have an odd FTP situation I am hoping someone on list can help me with.

We have an AS400 with 3 IP addresses assigned to it. Two are assigned to
one Ethernet interface and one is assigned to another. We are attempting to
connect to a remote system over a leased line. For security reasons, we are
only adding router rules to allow traffic from one IP on other side of the
line. The folks on the other side of the FTP are likewise only allowing
traffic from the one IP of the AS400.

The problem is, when initiating the FTP, it is going out on one of the other
IPs and thus not getting to it's destination. It seems that the IP the FTP
is using is the one on the AS400 that came up first after the last IPL. I
am not sure if this is always the case or if it even matters which comes up
first. Which leads to my question:

Is there a way to choose the source IP (when you have more than one IP on
the 400) on an outgoing FTP session on the AS400?

If you need more info, just let me know.

Thanks all,
Brian
