Cool. I hope our ISP (AT&T) is willing to keep up with the Joneses.

Just got out of a meeting with my boss. Guess we're going to have our ISP
(Sprint) do some spam checking, blacklisting, whitelisting, virus
checking, etc, in addition to what we have in place. Boss claims it's
real cheap and store and forward is thrown in.

Why get a separate box?
Domino R6 has great support for blacklisting and invalid email addresses.
TrendMicro's scan mail does a fantastic job for virus protection and it
runs native on Domino for the iSeries
Why add another potential point of failure?

I allow relaying from my internal network, that's it.

My boss tells me we're going to get a box to put in front of our Domino
STMP that will handle relay blocking as well as spam filtering, virus
scanning, etc., and if it works we'll probably stop using Domino's relay
controls.

Beats me.
But then you probably don't allow relaying off of your Domino server. I
suppose you could open one particular address.

Re: QtmmSendMail Issues

Rob,

Does the API use the MAILROUTER parm of the CHGSMTPA command? We run
Domino SMTP on a box separate from the one we run ESEND on, and it uses
the
address we have in MAILROUTER to find the SMTP server.

However I don't see a way to pipe the api through the Domino server.
Hopefully you've wrapped the api into something. Therefore you would just
need to change your wrapper program to use your email server of choice.
