It could be, as suggested, a conflict with another twinax device. If
not, check the hardware possibilities.

A) Reseat the planar board. I haven't done this in about 10 years, so I
may be off on the steps, but IIRC you do this by:
1) Turning it off.
2) Twisting the knob on the bottom left rear about 1/4 turn to release
the board.
3) Twisting it back to where it was.
4) Turn it back on.

B) Ensure everything, including the keyboard, is plugged in securely.
Swap keyboards with another device.

C) Test/replace the power supply. Examine it; look for leaky, rusted,
or swollen capacitors.

Subject: 3180 device...

Hi folks, just a quick question...
I have a 3180 powered on as console, and it drops power
every hour or so.
I can re-plug it, and power it up again, but it
definetely powers off again..
Two devices are exhibiting the same problem.
Any ideas?

Ken Shields
