An early announcement won't happen before then I wager.

My biggest complaint with the new IPTF site is that you must enter more information and go through more screens to do the same thing.

But it's easier. I guess.

Wanne see something dissapointing though, try the ops nav plug-in for IPTF. LAME-O! The 'Order PTFs' option just brings you to the IPTF page and the 'Load and Apply' option brings you up a page asking you to cut and paste in the URL given in the email you get from IPTF. It then opens that page in your web browser! (Uh, clicking on the link woujld have done that a lot more simply!) I had hoped it had some slick code in it to download the FTP images and set them up in an Image Catalog, and load them into the Virtal Optical Drive, and the Load them and set them for apply at IPL time. Guess I wanted too much....

I went to iPTF to download fixes last week, http://www-912.ibm.com/eserver/support/fixes/fcgui.jsp and it has changed.

It appears that as of Feb 18, 2004, that "Fix Central" is replacing iPTF, and there is a drop-down to selected the type of system for which you are downloading fixes (iSeries, pSeries, zSeries, etc.)...

What are the odds that IBM is going to announce the new box on or before that date?
