That sure does look like it is worth a try to change the shared opens and cache deleted files to 'N' and see if your lock problem goes away.

It can't hurt too much. If you have a lot of delete file, create file, functions in your OCL you will see a minor performance hit, but again, these were put in place when the AS/400 was a whole lot slower.
