Sorry if my assumption was unwarranted.

As far as I know, the only lock that you cannot get on this object (or member) is *EXCL, according to the chart on that page. What is the statement at 1100 of program YCTC1?

A couple things come to mind:

1. You are using ALCOBJ *EXCL somewhere - D_MIRROR has this

2. Some way of opening the file requires and exclusive lock that does not allow reading. I don't remember the lock requirements in RPG. You could check the manual.

3. The lock conflict is short, and is gone by the time you do WRKOBJLCK. You could insert a MONMSG on the offending escape messages, then do an immediate WRKOBJKCK OUTPUT(*PRINT)

4. A dependent object is locked *EXCL - a logical file, maybe. I could be off-base here - I forget easily - but I think there's a table in one of the CL manuals (Appendix something or other) with lock requirements for various actions on objects.

Hope this starts you in a helpful direction. I'm getting ready for a nice holiday dinner here stateside.

I ve read this long back in IBM books .
But when the lock is *SHRRD why iam getting the
following errors:
(i)file YPOSF1 in is in use, cant be shared
QRY1765 received by YCTC1 at 1100. (C D I R)

(ii)Not able to allocate objects needed for file
YPOSF1 in library QS36F
Error message CPF4128 appeared during OPEN for file
YPOSF1 (C S D F).

do I ve to suspect some other jobs locking this file?I
ve been encountering this problem for last couple of
days, whenever I went onto check the locks I found only
user D_MIRROR having lock as *SHRRD....
These errors Iam getting while running batch ,I want
to avoid these errors, can you suggest?
