Starting with V5R1, there are a number of APIs that return this kind of information. For *CNN, take a look at List Network Connections. Connection info is returned in a user space. You could probably have a data structure defined by a PF, then do something with pointers to hook up the entries in the user space to the data space, hence to the file.

More stuff comes with each release.
