Sorry I forgot to add the smily face to my last post. :)

But, let me ask you, are you just guessing that the logical has *NO or is that a fact?

If this is a fact, then I would have to guess that the permissions policy is that no deletes are allowed through a logical, only through the physical file and you would need to change your program to perform the delete against the physical even though all other processing is done through the logical.

If you are just guessing yourself, do a DSPFD and find out for sure before you start looking for other reasons.

Now, I'm going to go out on a branch and also add that the system policy may be that all deletes must be done through a record requester/server program and even if you used the physical file in your program the delete operation may still fail.

Let us know what got in your way, just for the archives if nothing else so that someone in the future has this situation they can also find an answer.
