The gent at the meeting says it really varies.  Some seem to hold on to 
them forever, others have a policy that they will not have a PC with 3 
years and 1 month of service, at 3 years it's out of there.  That company 
is really popular with the employee buyback.

How current are the machines that companies are disposing of now? ATX
chassis? 1.0 gig or faster? 
 
I looked on their site because I am looking for a second machine for
experimenting with stuff but can't justify a new one even though the 
prices
are dropping. I didn't see any that got my eyes spinning but maybe I am
expecting too much.
