For the PC bunch, I find that this is the easiest way to get an iSeries
spooled file.  

In iSeries navigator (f.k.a. OpsNav) do following:

1) expand system name icon (click on '+' next to it)
2) expand Basic Operations
3) click on Printer Output once
4) for the last spooled file, scroll down to the bottom of the right window
pane
5) drag and drop (or right-click -> copy -> paste) the desired spooled file
to your PC's desktop or to some folder in windows explorer

This will create a text file version of your spooled file which then you can
view with Notepad and the like.
