Going backwards in a working environment Is asking for nothing but trouble.

Besides the stated issues of programming,  Consideration needs to be given
to DASDI space,  Memory, and system speed on a older box and a old OS.

A lot of packaged software like JD Edwards require updates to run on the
newer OS systems.  We are planning a move from 4.5 to 5.2 and are having to
work with Edwards for updated software to make it work.  Even 4.5 is NOT
supported by Edwards for problems...
