Hi,
I'm using the SNDEMAILR program to email IFS files. The comments in this
utility indicate it's from News/400 1998.

I have read (probably in this list) that the QDLS has a 25% performance
penalty and I've been trying to get away from it using the SNDEMAILR utility
to mail directly from the IFS.

The problem I'm having with this is in emailing an EDI file to a trading
partner. This file has to have LF record delimeters and has to BEGIN with
an LF. I used CPYTOIMPF to get this done, using the "LF" option for record
delimeter and the file gets to the "copy-to" directory correctly. (of
course, I had to force the LF in the beginning by copying a blank record
into the file first. Ugly, but it works)

The problem is, when I send this file using the SNDEMAILR utility, it
appends a CR to the end of each record. I finally had to use the QDLS file
system and SNDDST to get it there without the CR's. In other words, the
file is in the IFS correctly, I email it to myself, and it arrives with
CR's.

Any thoughts? Is this something to do with "MIME" (which I don't
understand)?

TIA
