No need to put the file in the IFS if you want to use FTP.  Just
do this in your Windows/Unix FTP client:

  cd mylib
  ascii
  quote site trim 0
  get MYFILE


The "quote site trim 0" will tell the iSeries FTP server not to trim
any blanks from the record.

If you are using IBM's iSeries FTP client, you also need to specify
   locsite trim 0
