Hi Albert,

Some years ago, IBM Rochester undertook a major OS/400 print spooling
project in which they documented via API's all of the functions that a print
driver developer would need to know about in order to build an OS/400
compatible print driver. The hope at the time was that some of the printer
manufacturers, who found that their printers were frequently used in
conjunction with IBM AS/400 and iSeries hosts, would be incented to begin
providing OS/400 print drivers to their user community.

To date, this has not happened.

You therefore can build WSCST drivers starting with a base driver (ex. *HP4
or *HP5si for PCL 5e compatible printers) that offers most of the
functionality needed by your target printer or you can build a print driver
from scratch by using some of the Print API's.

HTH

Best Regards,

/Paul
