I will preface my comments first by saying I am not sure how LPAR affects
software licensing.  If you move development to a box with LPAR, does the 'P'
level go up?  This would cost you more money.  I think one big reason why shops
get a separate box for development is so that they can keep that 'P' level down
and pay less for the development tools they need.  When we got our new
production box, we were able to get 'more power', but drop a 'P' level.  Saved
bucks all around in that move.  Just a thought for you to ponder if you have not
already.
