What skills are you talking about?  I would say that many of the iSeries
developers in my shop have a great deal of skill and business knowledge,
and *could* do work that would really suit the needs of our users.

However, many of them have spent so much time in an environment where they
have not needed to respond to the needs of users that they don't have the
people skills or the attitude to serve our users properly.  They look at
users as the problem, not the reason they have a job.

We are changing this mentality.  In some cases, by changing the personnel.

Scary, because I used to be a part of that PC community.  When I got to
work on an iSeries, I thanked God for finally getting to work with a box
that was stable.
