Hang on a minute, 'doesn't play well with others' ?

For starters, you can use;

TCP
SNA
SMB (NetBIOS)
Channel Attatch
...

You can connect to it from;

Windows(any version)
OS/2
MacOS
OS/3x0
Unix/Linux
...

It supports all of the current TCP protocols.

You can attach virtually any printer (direct or virtual hosted).

You can run two different operating systems at the same time (not to mention 
different versions of OS/400 at the same time too)

I really fail to see how it 'doesn't play well with others'
