In doing a CL program that will verify BRMS volume information is there a more
efficient coding method than
If GT 1000
  LT 2000
goto next?

The program would run daily and also whenever the operators load tapes from the
tape librarian. It would check for a tape being loaded into the wrong library,
for any status other than *Available and write-protect =*YES. This information
would come from the DSPTAPCTG command w/ *Outfile.

Also what would be the safest open file method to employ as I can't have any
possibility of file locking. I want to do this in a CL as it may be more
acceptable over an RPG ILE program.

Thanks,
Rob
