We had to replace SPD card used with optical drive with PCI version when
we went fromV4R5 to V5R2.. There were some other non-supported SPD cards
too but we didn't have any of them

We went from V4R5 to V5R2 on our 720. No ill effects felt. I don't think
there are any SPD bus issues with V5R2. I know that there was an issue
with stuff like HTTP server and Firewall for AS/400. There is also the
trigger program issue which has been thoroughly discussed here.

Thanks,

Mark

i am being told that migrating from anything UNDER 5.1 will cause some
information to be either compromised or lost completely. Can you
corroborate that at all?
