Lots of variables:
1) Any messages in QSYSOPR or DSPLOG, on either system, indicating comm
failures?
2) Any detailed messages in your joblog indicating a problem?
3) Any messages in QSYSOPR or DSPLOG, which may point to a lock on the
PF?
4) I forget the name of the DDM job on the physical system, but does it
have anything in it's joblog?

Subject: Intermittant error on open of a DDM file

Hey all,

I'm having an odd thing happen on a very less than regular basis.

I have a job that is scheduled to run 3 times a day, every day. It
accesses and updates a DDM file.

Once in a while (less than 3 or 4 times a month) I get this error:

CPF4128: Not able to allocate objects needed for file DLYSLSDB in library
C0IHMSTF member or program device DLYSLSDB.

There are no locks on the file, the remote box is not used at this point
for anything except to store this (and other very unusually large) files.

The error happens on file open (using the cycle). All I do is take a 'C'
to cancel and then an 'R' to retry the call when the CLP recieves the
CEE9901 message that the call failed. the Retry works, and the program
goes along on it's merry way.

The program runs on a V5R1 box, the physical of the DDM file resides on a
V4R3 box.

Thanks,

Rick
