thanks for the link and the reply.

I have since made some progress on job monitoring and recovery processes (my first priority) by writing a PSL script. We did get Patrol up and running fairly easily on 5 machines and out of the box what it monitors is pretty effective. I will check what version we are using but am fairly confident it is the latest version.

We have a couple of customers that are using the AS400 agent and we use
it to monitor an AS400 (as well as an NT server and 2 Solaris servers)
for a customer.  Make sure that you have the latest version (June 2002)
- it has some enhancements that the original version did not have that
make it easier to write your own KMs.

I did play around writing a KM to monitor output queues as an exercise
which was quite effective. I have not put it onto a live system yet
