Just as a test, if you uncheck autodial do you get the results you'd like?

I have an idea that Windows isn't triggering autodial from the browser, but
rather from the tcp/ip services needed. I suspect any required use of
tcp/ip would trigger the autodial. When you use ping, finger, or telnet
from a Windows run line, does it start the autodialer?

I know I have had to uncheck the autodialer because it is just a nuisance.
Whatever I try to do, it tries to dial. Even word processing starts the
auto dialer.

BUT...
the second question is NOT the auto dial issue in itself, since I have
configured my Internet connection thru a modem and I want it to start
automatically whenever I start Netscape/I.Explorer... So I don't want to
inactivate the autodial.
...

Thanks,
Antonio
