RE: Password issues

Gotta go catch me a rodeo, but is it possible that DST password length is 
not dependent on the system value QMAXPWDLEN but, rather, is dependent on 
some obscure DST setting?  Keeping in mind that case is pertinent in DST 
passwords but is irrelevant in traditional passwords.

Yes, except on V5R1 it doesn't show error 6:

    5 -- New user password matches one of the previous passwords.
    7 -- Duplicate DST profile specified for new DST profile.
    9 -- Invalid DST profile specified for new DST profile.
    12 -- Requesting DST profile has insufficient functional privileges.
    13 -- *SAME is not allowed for new DST profile password when 128
  character, case sensitive passwords are enabled.

Weird, huh?  (Oh, and if you page down it just says "Other -- Unknown 
error
occurred.")  And so, a 10-character password is invalid in SST.  Very
strange.  Or maybe the change in QPWDMAXLEN won't take effect for SST 
until
I IPL again.
