I'm assuming that you work for an antique dealer. :)

It's very likely that the retail value of your components is exceeded by
their disposal costs.

Like most IBM hardware, the AS/400 and iSeries computers are going to be
identified by a four-digit number (940n) followed by a model designation.
The earlier models (in the beige racks or small chassis') used a single
letter (B, C, D, etc).  The later models generally use three characters
(310, 50S, 620 etc.)  The same would apply to external drive arrays and
tape drives).  Everything else is a feature code.

Feature code #5042 is a "System Unit Expansion Rack" which attached to a
9406-310 or 9406-320 via an optical cable.  If I recall correctly it had
two buses with 6 SPD card slots each, as well as space for external disk
arrays, diskette drives, or tape units.
