And the urban legend (a la Soltis) is, add 1 letter to VMS and you get WNT (Windows NT). Just like HAL and IBM, eh?

And IIRC, didn't the chief architect for WindowsNT (David someone ?), come from DEC with his head full of the VAX operating system (VMS) ideas ?
