Hi Everyone,

I decided to try out Management Central and ran into some problems. When I
created a new connection in Ops Nav, I had it verify the connection, and
that process states that it was successful in talking to the Management
Central server. Then I right-clicked on Management Central and selected
Change Central System, and specified the new connection. It grinds for
awhile, then tells me "Unable to complete the connection to central system".
Checking the job log for QYPSSRV and found CPFB924 "Sockets communication
error; reason code 0007." And the secondary text has "Cause.....: Reason
Codes: ...0007 - Data receive failed. ..."

I check the archives and Tom Liotta mentions making sure the host name &
domain name in CFGTCP option 12 are specified first in the host table,
option 10. They were not, so I fixed that, stopped & started the Management
Central server and it still fails.

Marty Urbanek mentioned PTF's for 5722SS1 related to CAE service pack:
SI01907:
SI01838 Temporarily applied
SI01378 Superseded (Superseded by . . . . . . . . . . . . :
SI02175)
SI01377 Temporarily applied
SI01376 Temporarily applied
SI01375 Temporarily applied
so unless SI02175 messed up what SI01378 fixed, I should be ok there.

I stopped & started TCP/IP. Now I find that the QYPSJSVR job did not start,
just the QYPSSRV job. The job log for QYPSJSVR says "Not authorized to
program QYPSJSVR in library QSYSDIR." The user is QYPSJSVR. Granted *USE
authority to the program and tried again.

This time the QYPSJSVR job log says: "Error(s) occurred during running of
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/mc/server/McServer API." I know
very little about java, but I looked around anyway and couldn't find
"com/ibm/mc/server/McServer" either on my PC or on my AS400.

What am I missing? Do I need to re-install Client Access?
