Jim, check the IPDTGFWD (IP datagram forwarding) setting on CHGTCPA - this has to be *YES for the 400 to send IP datagrams between networks. This has security implications, of course.

Greetings,

I have searched the archives, and not found any answer for this one.

I have 2 networks on my AS/400, connected to 2 token ring cards. I did not set up the addressing, but have to deal with it. Changing addresses on the PC's and system not an option.

Card 1 has an address of 172.22.1.1 subnet mask of 255.255.0.0, and all devices on that network have 172.22.***.*** with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0.

Card 2 has address of 172.24.1.1 subnete mask of 255.255.0.0, with all devices on it's ring at 172.24.***.*** with subnet mask of 255.255.0.0.

On the 2nd network is a firewall with 172.24.1.10 as its address. The AS/400 and all devices on that network have 172.24.1.10 as their default gateway, and have access to the internet.

PC's on the 1st network have a default gateway of 172.22.1.1. They can ping 172.24.1.1 with good response, but can not ping 172.24.1.10.

Question: How can I set up this system so that all of network 1 (172.22.***.***) can access the internet. I think that I need to set a default route from card 1 to card 2, but I can not find how.

We are on V5R2. Any help???

Thanks
