I'm shocked and saddened at the news of Dean's passing. I met Dean last
year while he was in Toronto working for one of his client's and we had
dinner together. We had made tentative plans to do it again when he was
next up in Toronto. We often exchanged email jokes back and forth, the
last only a week ago. He often managed to find jokes with a Canadian
angle - a nice gesture. It certainly gives one pause to reflect when
someone is taken at a relatively young age.

*** ADMIN: Dean Asmussen

It is with great sorrow I must announce that Dean Asmussen passed away
last night. Dean had suffered a mild heart attack last fall, and appeared
to be on the mend ... but last night he went to sleep and did not wake up.
I will convey additional details as I get them.

Dean was a very good friend of mine and a (on and off) prolific
contributor to some of the mailing lists hosted by midrange.com. He was
also the moderator of the BPCS-L mailing list. His contributions will be
sorely missed.
