Chris,

At my previous employer (a large manufacturer spread out all over North
America) we had been terminating QINTER for the nightly job run. Then we got
"dinged" by some inspectors that said access to our MSDS database needed to
be available at ALL TIMES on all shifts... So what I did was alter the
INLPGM so that we could control what menu was processed. And this was a BPCS
shop. The MSDS inquiry was a homegrown application so anyone could key in
MSDS as the user and MSDS as the password and get into it. So at during the
nightly backup and processing cycle, QINTER was taken down and a data area
was set (that controlled the menu option selection) and the QINTER was
started back up. This happened very quickly. So when you signed on during
this time you only got you the MSDS inquiry app...

HTH,

Chuck

Is it possible to disable login without bringing interactive down? I'd like
to be able to
prevent users from logging in while an overnight batch runs, but I'd rather
not take
interactive down to do it, if I can avoid that.

TIA,

--Chris
