DDE sounds promising.  I never thought of that.  (mostly because I've never
used it.)

Take a look at the Access Programmer's Toolkit - there's stuff about a DDE 
interface to the emulation, etc. You probably ned to write a VB or C++ 
wrapper program that could be run from a command line.
