Careful. IANAL[1], but read section 2.2 of the Adobe license carefully. You
are permitted to use the software from a remote computer "provided the total
number of users that access or Use the Software...does not exceed the
Permitted Number." And also, "No other network use is permitted...by any
user not licensed to use this copy of the Software..."

So, before you have a server sitting somewhere spinning up PDFs using the
$249 copy of Acrobat I'd have your legal department look at this license
agreement.

I think point 1 might be good, though I'm not sure. However, and a little more to the point, I have noticed that there are a plethora of pdf creation utilities available in Linux, including one for php, which should be pretty easy to interface to. The company I work for uses Joe's pdf product, and it's great, but has anyone used a Linux box for this? After all, you can buy a maintenance subscription from RedHat for about US$50/yr (not required btw), the install is free, and it'll run just dandy on a 500MHZ intel machine (that part I know for a fact).
