Is Bill's reply the answer? Are missing journal receiver entries something

Over 100,000 journal receiver entries were written yesterday and the only
missing sequence numbers I have been able determine happen around the time
of a *GEN of a new receiver.

I'm assuming the journal is missing record insert, update or deletes since
the target of these receivers fails to mirror the database correctly.

Ken,

Missing journal sequence is not unusual. These are typically system
generated journal entries. If SMAP (System Managed Acess Path) is turned
on, you will probably see a lot of missing sequence numbers. It is not
unusual.

Hope this helps,

Bill

                      Technical Discussion

With a bit of research on a V5R1 box, I have discovered a missing journal
receiver entry sequence number. The timing on this issue coincides with the
*GEN of a new receiver. The entries exist relating to the generation of the
new receiver and I'm assuming the entry missing relates to a database
insert, update or delete. Here's an actual result of the DSPJRN display...

973326 R UP PCMMAST
973327 J NR
973328 J PR
973329 R UP PCMMAST
973330 J JR JRNCR00022
973331 R UP PCMMAST
973333 R PX PCMLOG2

Obviously sequence number 973332 is 'missing'... Is anyone having similar
results? Is this a documented problem?
