Sounds to be like the Outlook client printer setup is incorrect. Instead of 
'sharing' the output 
print device, it is 'hot' printing to the device.
                That's what is interrupting the initial print.
                Of course when the spooled writer continues printing the spool 
report, the device setup has changed.
check the set-up on the Outlook client printer...
