Years ago (like 15+) I know I was able to 'share' a print file on the S/36 such that 2 separate RPG print programs run within the same procedure ended up as 1 spool file.

I have occasion to do that now on the AS/400 and can't figure it out (or even if it is possible).

The CL driver program calls the first RPG program directly. The CL driver program then calls another CL which calls the 2nd RPG program.

Both CL programs are OPM. Both RPG programs are ILE with activation group *CALLER and both define the print file name as PRINTER.

The OVRPRTF statement in the driver CL is:

OVRPRTF FILE(PRINTER) COPIES(&COPIES) HOLD(*YES) +
             USRDTA(SH03) OVRSCOPE(*JOB) SHARE(*YES) +
             OPNSCOPE(*JOB)

I want 1 spool file to show up afterward instead of 2 spool files. Is this possible?
