Short answer - sure thing. I think you need some kind of PASE session running all the time, then your VNC client will connect to it, and voila, there you are. Either a command line (shell) or in an X Window manager.

It's been a while, so my memory may be a little off, but I think that's the basics.

Maybe I can express my question better with an example.

What if I wanted to be able to:

1 - Signon to the iSeries
2 - Edit a shell scipt (Q or PASE) and save it in IFS
3 - Do a chmod command to mark the script executable
4 - Do an ls command to verify that the chmod worked
5 - Run the shell script and see the output (which was echoed to stdout)

Could I do this using Xterm and/or VNC?
