VERY interesting!!  Shows in black-and-white what a lotta have complained
about.  The window for OS longevity has shrunk from 3 years to 2 years over
the past decade.  That's where market pressures hurts the iSeries, but
whatyagonnaDO if you're IBM...?

I hadn't ever before heard where (probably by paying through the nose...;-)
support COULD be extended beyond "end of program support".  Apparently been
available for a while.  Also, sure SEEMS like we used-ta get more than 12
months notice of non-support too, bmnrc (may not recall correctly).  Also
seems like IBM is counting chickens before the next OS is hatched, as you
said, Mike.
