Well then you can "feel MY pain" Buck - I was Manager of Operations/I.S.
at my last job and had a 3590. Had a better opportunity and moved on
(after 13 years) and "inherited" a 9427. "slow tape drive" would be a
COMPLIMENT to this thing... We are FINALLY going to replace our 620 with
an 810 and say goodbye to the 9427 also - or I quit ;-)

Unless you have a slow tape drive, no dasd for save files and a tight
backup window.  Then every minute can count.  Been there, done that,
scars healing nicely.
