And we use the Quadrant product and highly recommend it. Like Mike says,
you take it outside of the AS/400-iSeries and then you don't have to
worry about that !

We went with Unifier, a NT4 solution just for the reasons you outlined.
IBM is killing hardware and software which drove up our AS400 usage.
Slowly we are moving certain functions to PC servers cause IBM has
dropped support. Another example is OV400.  We are re-doing all of our
mail merge letters, thousands a day, from OV to MS Word.  Sucks!

Hi,
Anybody else in this position?  Supportline tells me that V5R3 will not
support the 2761 card.  Worse yet, I'm told that V5R3 will DISABLE this
card.  Unsupported I can live with (don't like it, but I can live with
it). DISABLING the card is another matter altogether.
