You mentioned in your first post that you were considering paying IBM to
do this disk migration.  It is entirely possible to go through a series
of disk installations and removals within the Dedicated Service Tools so
that you never really have to restore from tape.  IBM could certainly do
this for you.  In the long run, it might actually be quicker than
restoring from tape and you would lose nothing.

Purchasing a tool for the save/restore of spool files might well end up
to be less expensive if you can do without the consulting expenses.
